“15 years have passed since Sivas massacre. 37 people were burned, while they were alive, 15 years ago. Some people were tried within the scope of these incidents and some of them were sentenced to various imprisonment. However circumstances pre and after the incident, responsibilities of public authorities-who used state authority-, administrative and political responsibilities of governments and its damages to social peace have not been full researched and determined.”
Human rights defenders, Non-Governmental Organizations, all organizations that support democracy and everyone who feel sympathy for died people want finding out of those who are real responsible for Sivas Massacre for 15 years. It is understood that experienced trauma will not lose its effects that have been conveyed next generations. Mankind see lynch policy, which is attempted to be operated in recent period, and protection of this policy in a horrified manner. Unless authorities determine the incidents in terms of legal, political and social aspects and take precautions, eliminating potential effects of these events (Madımak Hotel and recent incidents) does not seem as strong possibility…
However accomplishment of human rights and democracy issues, which should be in a modern, democratic and secular state, is not difficult. The important point is that political governments and those who use state power should accept responsibility and deficiencies. We remind their responsibility to TBMM (Turkish Grand National Assembly) and too all other state institutes once again. We commemorate our 37 people who lost their lives 15 years ago.
