We condemn the gun attack that the DISK President Süleyman Çelebi subjected to in his workroom on 4 October 2009 afternoon. This attack to the president of DISK, which has an important place in struggle of labour, peace and democracy, deeply depressed all of us. We wish Mr. Çelebi speedy recovery.
The sad events in prior years showed us that, early comments by the authorities are irrelevant and deficient. This event must be investigated in a detailed way and the facts behind it must be uncovered.
On the occasion of this attack, we would like to express that democratic public opinion and everyone should show solidarity with the DİSK.
