Foreign Minister of the Sweden, Mrs. Anna Lindh was killed after the vicious attack against her.
The Swedish people and the entire world lost a person who was respectful to human rights and freedoms and who was an important democratic worth.
Turkish society also lost its most important closest friend, contrary to some media's wish to reflect.
Anna Lindh had visited HRA Headquarters two times and she met with executive members of headquarters in OSCE meeting held in İstanbul (18-20 November1999). In all meetings with her, she reminded her support for the increase of human rights standards and democracy in Turkey.
We would like to express our condolences to Swedish people, her family and democratic public opinion of the world.
