A society who does not face with its past cannot construct a future based on human rights and democracy. Judgment is the one who will distribute justice. Societal peace cannot be mentioned in a place where police distributes justice and starts exercising execution.
In Istanbul, a young person named Feyzullah Ete could be killed with police kicking while sitting with his friend in park.
The police could kill Baran Tursan by shutting with his gun just from the head because he did not obey stop warning.
We have mentioned our concerns about changes in Law on the Duties and Competencies of Police and the last two events confirmed how much we are right in our concerns.
Heedlessly violating the right to live is unacceptable.
As Human Rights Defenders we once more call Turkish Great Nation Assembly (TBMM): Anti-Democratic laws feeds violation of rights, they should change immediately and some codes have to be repealed permanently.
It is needed to give more life to human rights, to Democracy and to Law for not losing more Feyzullah Ete’s with police kicks, having children with fathers, Baran Tursun’s not to get killed because of not obeying stop warning and not destroying their future.
