There was a bomb attack, which was conducted about 22.00 on 27th July 2008, Sunday in Güngören district, Istanbul. According to the statement of the Governorship in Istanbul, there are at least 17 deaths and 150 injured people in the attack.
A group of civilian people were targeted in a public area and mass deaths, including also children, happened in the attack.
This is a massacre which upset the whole Turkey seriously.
These kinds of murders are defined as crime against humanity in the Human Rights Law.
As Human Rights Association (IHD) and Human Rights Foundation of Turkey (HRFT), we are deeply sorry for making same statements because of similar events. We condemn the massacre and state that such kinds of violence and attacks must be stopped. We condolence with people, whose relatives passed away, and wish those, who are injured, quick recovery in the attacks.
