As being Organization for Human Rights&Solidarity for Oppressed People (MAZLUMDER) and Human Rights Organization (İHD) we believe that we are faced with a, absolutely humanitarian, task of releasing policeman Hakan AÇIL, who was kidnapped by armed persons on 09th October 2005.
Unfortunately, despite all of our calls, there is not any positive result until that time.
Last few days, media published some news. According to the media; the kidnappers want to release policeman Hakan AÇIL, but he is not still released since there are not any organizations that are concern the matter.
Such news caused to more desperation for family members, who fear from safety of life for the policeman, and increase demands and repressions on our organizations. In a day, we receive at least once, twice phone calls from father, Muammer AÇIL. Moreover, we are witness of family members’ cries. The family demands that our organizations should make effective attempts and compose a commission to go to Cizre, where the kidnapping operated. The father, Muammer AÇIL, stated that he wants to take part in the commission.
Our organizations discussed on family’s insistent demands and present circumstances, regarding that any organization, which struggles to defend and improve human rights cannot be silent for a family’s sufferings and a person’s life right is the utmost matter, and decided to send a joined commission to Cizre, where the kidnapping operated. Muammer AÇIL, father of the kidnapped policeman, also took part in the commission. Today, the commission will be in Diyarbakır and go to Cizre tomorrow. The commission gave information about situation also to public officials.
By means of you we want to state and underline that such kidnappings should be stopped.
Our organizations regard such kidnappings as contrary to humanitarian law and human rights, so reject and condemn these actions completely. Our organizations, which are against any kind of violence, call once more all people for respecting humanitarian law and human rights.
