March is commemorated as several mass killings and massacres but it should be commemorated as a month, on which perpetrators are sentenced and justice has been done. Murder of 7 university students on 16th March 1978 in Istanbul, massacre of thousands Kurds in Halabja in 1988, massacre against Alevis in Gazi district of Istanbul from 12th March to 16th March 1995 and mass killings in Newroz celebrations during 1990s are still in our memory. Mass killings against struggle of revolutionists and people is one of the most serious human rights violations. These violations can be ended and those who are responsible can be tried only via justice. Due to Ergenekon court case and investigation; bringing those that responsible for these mass killings and massacres to the court and trying them is an inevitable necessity.
We would like to express that social opposition consider this as process to justice and reveal truths and activities should be conducted in this basis.
We commemorate once again those who lost their lives in the mass killings and massacres in March and condemn those who are responsible.
