IHD, in this letter, states that violence especially on children, which happened in many cities and districts for the last 10 days, should be stopped, policemen practises of breaking arms of children and cruel violence on them should be given up immediately and the existing situation, which is a result of protection for torturer and impunity for them, is far away from being a democratic state of law.

The letter is below.
Yours Sincerely,

Sevim Salihoğlu
Secretary General

Dear Minister,

Torture is practised on people at any age and without considering their gender.
Torture is common. It is practised in the East and West as well as in the South and North.
Feyzullah Ene was subjected to torture in a street of Siirt. It is an example of torture practised outside of official detention places.
We ask for stopping torture.
We ask for preventing torture. We ask for taking measures in terms of administrative, legal, judicial and educational to prevent torture.
Impunity policy for torture should be stopped. Perpetrators of torture should not be protected.
Effective legal procedures, which pointed out in the 13th Article of the European Convention of Human Rights, should be implemented.
The Government should stop police violence that is seen in many cities and districts for the last 10 days.
Police practises, which break arms of children and are brutal violence on them, should be given up.
On the other hand, we ask for justice for the children, who are at the age of primary and secondary schools periods and arrested in Diyarbakir and Adana.  Number of the arrested children is about 24 in Diyarbakir and about 22 in Adana.
A practice of beat by policemen and arrest by judiciary cannot be a practice of democratic state of law.
We ask for justice especially for children.
Those, who are “Responsible” for wrong issues, should not Punish Children to clean themselves!
