We, the sufferers of Human Rights violations have been assembling in front of the Human Rights Monument for 28 weeks and requesting the identification of those who are responsible for these violations and prosecution of these people. That is, we are stating that the Government’s policy of eliminating its opponents and thus getting rid of them is of no use and it is time to end the policies of terror. We wouldn’t have suffered new pains if the horrific facts exposed following the Susurluk car-crash could have been investigated and the bill of pain suffered for years by those who live in Turkey could have been accounted for. The criminal organizations were encouraged, they were called heroes.
Everyone who refused to address the facts exposed at Susurluk and agreed to live with this shame, and especially the Judiciary that failed to perform its duties are collaborators in the attack against our General President Akın Birdal. Akın Birdal and the Human Rights Associations have become the target of the attackers because of their struggle for Human Rights. The Human Rights struggle in our country is now transformed into a struggle against the criminal organizations, which is Counter-Guerilla, because behind the Human Rights violations in our country there is an organized focus of power. Our only weapon in this struggle is the common longing of the humankind to peace, fraternity, equality and freedom.
It is not enough to apprehend the assassins. We request the powers behind the assassins to be exposed. Unless this is done, the attacks on Human Rights will continue. The part played by Cengiz Ersever and Yeşil who are appointed by the Government reveals important clues as to the powers behind this attack. As long as the criminal and murderous powers are exposed and prosecuted we will all apprehensively wait our turn to be attacked.
