Attacks on Civilians are War Crimes
Attacks on Civilians are Crimes against Humanity
It has been informed from the news appeared in the press that on the night of March 17, 2025, a total of 9 civilians, including 7 children, from the same family were killed in an attack on Kobani/Berxbotan village by unmanned combat aerial vehicles allegedly belonging to Turkey.
On a day when the Kurdish people are suffering from the Halabja Genocide and at a time when a democratic and peaceful solution to the Kurdish question is being discussed, we consider this attack as a provocation against the peace initiative. We would like to remind public opinion and the political power once again that the continuation of military operations in an environment where peace and disarmament are being discussed has led to such provocations.
We call out to the government once again that such actions against civilians constitute war crimes under international law and humanitarian law which aims at protecting civilians.
We urge you to make a statement on this massacre of civilians and inform the public immediately. If the allegations appeared in the press are true, take the initiative for an effective investigation of all those responsible for ordering and carrying out the attack and make a public statement.
At this time when peace and democratic solutions are being discussed, announce that you have stopped the military operations to prevent new provocations.
Respect the fact that the decision to build the future in Syria is up to the peoples of Syria.
