The events, which are potential to spread all over the country, in Diyarbakır that occurred during and after the burial ceremonies of 14 HPG (People Defence Forces) members who were killed by army forces, thread human rights especially life right and internal peace.
Just during the weekend 5 citizens, 2 of them in Kızıltepe and 3 of them in İstanbul, were killed. Violence is being increased day by day, however all people should behave reasonably and should avoid actions that can provoke new events. Putting bombs in public places, vandalising transportation vehicles, the results of these actions cannot be explained with any reason. Moreover, none of these reasons can be accepted. Violence was not a solution and cannot become solution in any time. Violence can cause, bring nothing except for reactionary violence and chaos atmosphere. We condemn all violent events and call to stop these actions IMMEDIATELY to prevent new killings.
On the other hand Government’s manner, which seeks solution via repressive legislations and reduces all problems only to “security” dimension, is sorrowful and worrying. The cruel statements, which are told without regarding their effects and results, of the administrators especially Prime Minister, who are in the highest ranks of Government, prepare a ground to recede from being law state, abuse power and imbalance results.
Indeed, using guns in attacking to demonstrations and deaths of children confirm our worries. Moreover, the approach of army forces and implements in demonstration attacks become abuse power that exceed from prevent the events.
There is a necessary to discuss the reasons of the recent anxious events in a logical manner and actions so as not to live these events again. The biggest fault is that dealing with the problems in one dimension and turn back to old methods, which are regarded as useless.
We state again that ALL KIND OF VIOLENCE SHOULD BE ENDED IMMEDIATELY. BOMBING AND VANDALISING CANNOT BE TOLERATED, ACCEPTED UNDER ANY REASON.
State institutions and administrators, especially the government, are responsible to find solution in peaceful ways and without receding from being law state and without violating human rights for all problems in the country. Abusing power and using implements that exceed the purpose should be ended immediately. The investigation, for deaths that are results of using guns in attacking demonstrations, should be started immediately, responsible persons should be determined. Prime Minister and other administrators in the Government should go the event place and call for common sense. The methods and approaches should be carried out to mitigate the atmosphere. Everybody should deliberately avoid from violent demonstrations that increase tension in the society.
