İHD’s 20th General Assembly

 

İHD’s 20th Ordinary General Assembly was held at Hacı Bektaş Veli Anatolia Cultural Foundation’s conference hall in Ankara. Following the election of council committee members, İHD’s honorary chairperson Mr. Akın Birdal was designated as the council chair. Delegates coming in from many cities in Turkey decided to hold a new charter convention workshop. The general assembly underlined human rights violations in Turkey  and many motions focusing on human rights were voted into resolutions.

The central executive board presented its activity and financial reports followed by the central supervisory board’s report.

Öztürk Türkdoğan, Eren Keskin, Gülseren Yoleri, Rehşan Bataray Saman, Hüseyin Küçükbalaban, Hüsnü Öndül, Hatice Necla Şengül, Osman İşçi, Abdullah Zeytun, M. Tahir Saçaklıdır, Metin Kılavuz, Cihan Aydın, Mehmet Acettin, Nuray Çevirmen, Selahattin Okçuoğlu, Mehmet Aker, Bedri Kuran, İlhan Öngör, Cemal Babaoğlu, Hayrettin Pişkin, Servet Üstün Akbaba, Ercan Yılmaz, Güldane Kılıç, Hamdi Bayhan and Bülent Temel were elected to serve on the association’s executive board; while Reyhan Yalçındağ Baydemir, Aygül Demirtaş, Cüneyt Durmaoğlu, Mithat Can and İlyas Kara were elected to the disciplinary board and Ali Ekber Kaypakkaya, İsmail Boyraz and Zeynep Ceren Boztoprak were elected to serve on the association’s supervisory board.

Following votes of thanks, the association’s 20th Ordinary General Assembly was concluded. The Human Rights Association will continue working for human rights and freedoms with its new executives as it has always done.
